Lucia Del Carpio obtained a PhD in Economics from Princeton University in 2014 and a Master in Public Affairs from the School of Public and International Affairs (SPIA) at Princeton in 2008.

Her research is in the areas of Behavioral Economics, Development Economics and Organizational Economics. Her research agenda is currently structured around social norms and tax compliance, and gender and social identity.

Prof. Del Carpio is affiliated with the Group for the Analysis of Development (GRADE) in Peru. She has worked in an advisory role at the Ministry of Economy and Finance of Peru, in the areas of competition, trade, and international investment.  She subsequently was a member of the Council of Advisers to the Prime Minister, where she was responsible for economic issues. She also has experience working in investment banking in both Peru and the United States.
